Day 1: Arrival in Manali
Pickup on arrival in Manali and transfer to hotel for rest and showers. Full day at leisure to explore a bit of Manali on your own. We can also arrange for arrival to Manali from Delhi or nearby cities if asked for.
Day 2: Manali local Sightseeing
Sightseeing in Manali beginning from Old Manali. We’ll visit Hidimba Temple and Manu’s Temple in old part of city. After that, we’ll drive to Vashishtha Temple and spend some time in hot water springs. Rest of day can be sent in Old Manali market.
Day 3: Manali – Rohtang Pass – Batal – Chandrataal
We’ll leave Manali early morning and reach Rohtang Pass (approx 4000 meters) for a bit of rest, sightseeing and photo opportunities. We’ll then drive towards Batal and stop there for a lunch. After that, we’ll drive Chandrataal Lake and stay there in camp nearby for the night. Dinner and bonfire at the campsite in fun company of Jamaica.
Day 3: Manali – Rohtang Pass – Batal – Chandrataal
We’ll leave Manali early morning and reach Rohtang Pass (approx 4000 meters) for a bit of rest, sightseeing and photo opportunities. We’ll then drive towards Batal and stop there for a lunch. After that, we’ll drive Chandrataal Lake and stay there in camp nearby for the night. Dinner and bonfire at the campsite in fun company of Jamaica.
Day 4: Chandrataal – Kunzum La -Kibber – Kaza kibber back to Kaza (full day)
From Chandrataal we’ll drive towards Kunzum La, ( 4550 meters) a major landmark. There is a temple dedicated to a Goddess Kunzum in middle of pass. We’ll then visit Kibber village (4200 meters), one of highest inhabited villages in the world. Main attraction is the huge Key Gompa monastery of Gelugpa Buddhism sect. We’ll spend the night in our hotel in Kaza.
Day 5: Kaza – Pin Valley – Tabo
Pin Valley is famous for it’s wildlife which includes critically endangered snow leopards, ibex, Himalayan bear and wolf.We’ll spend some time in Kungri monastery and try to spot some wildlife. Then we’ll drive to Tabo to visit Tabo Monastery which is more than 1000 years old and is considered one of the holiest Buddhist sites in the world. There are several caves nearby which are used by Buddhist monks for meditation in solitude.
Day 6: Tabo – Dhankar – Kaza
Next morning, we’ll drive to Dhankar and visit Gompa which is situated high above the valley. It used to be a fort and residence of king of Spiti. The view from this point are mind blowing. We’ll also visit Lalung Gompa. We’ll reach Kaza by night and spend the night in hotel there.
Day 7: Kaza – Manali
Next morning, we’ll drive back to Manali from Kaza along the same route we came passing Kunzum Laa, Batal, Chatru and Rohtang Pass. You have the choice of either staying overnight in Manali or drive to some other place of choice from there.
